This session will focus on the core role of recovery coaching and how peer support can strengthen long-term recovery. Attendees will learn practical strategies for meeting individuals where they are, supporting recovery goals, and navigating triggers, boundaries, and real-life challenges. The session will also explore how lived experience, empathy, and resource connection can empower individuals in their recovery journey. Participants will leave with concrete tools they can immediately apply in their recovery coaching practice.

Learning Objectives:

Define the role of a recovery coach and distinguish it from clinical and case management roles
Apply person-centered and strengths-based approaches when supporting individuals in recovery.
Identify common triggers and barriers in early and ongoing recovery and discuss practical coaching strategies to address them.
Demonstrate effective communication and boundary-setting skills that promote trust, empowerment, and autonomy
Connect individuals to recovery-oriented resources while supporting self-advocacy and long-term recovery goals.
