Cynthia Carballo, MS, NCC is a Cuban-American mental health counselor and National Certified Counselor (NCC) dedicated to advancing well-being and reducing stigma, particularly within Spanish-speaking and LGBTQ+ communities. She currently serves as a clinician at Eliot Community Human Services, providing evidence-based care for adults and adolescents through assessment, skills-based therapy, and crisis stabilization. Cynthia is fluent in Spanish and committed to culturally responsive practice, fostering trust and accessibility for diverse clients.
Cynthia is trained in trauma-focused interventions, including Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, and the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework. Her prior experience includes counseling survivors of sexual abuse and supporting children, adolescents, and families through trauma recovery. She has also contributed to research on stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination as an undergraduate research assistant at Florida State University.
Cynthia holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University. Drawing on her professional training, research background, and lived commitment to advocacy, she works to empower individuals, expand access to care, and create inclusive, recovery-oriented therapeutic environments.
