Co-founder and CEO
SecondMuse
Todd Khozein co-founded SecondMuse and serves as its CEO. A medical doctor by training, Todd approaches economic development through a systems lens, viewing markets as living ecosystems shaped by relationships, incentives, and design. Central to his work is the belief that trust and strong relationships are not soft values, but economic infrastructure.
He leads a whole-of-economy approach that activates investment, technology commercialization, and workforce development to address the root causes of complex challenges. Increasingly, his work focuses on designing and aligning capital as a core lever, integrating financial tools into broader economic systems to move solutions from idea to implementation.
Under Todd’s leadership, SecondMuse has designed and implemented programs across all seven continents and partnered with more than 600 organisations, including NASA, the World Bank, Nike, USAID, the World Health Organization, and the Rockefeller Foundation to accelerate resilient economic systems. The firm has worked in over 160 countries and territories and has supported more than 1,600 ventures that have collectively raised over $2B.
This track record reflects Todd’s conviction that economies can be built inclusively without sacrificing human dignity or planetary health, and that lasting impact requires aligning capital, institutions, and communities as coordinated systems.
Todd earned a medical degree from the University of New Mexico and studied economic modelling before co-founding SecondMuse in 2008. He serves on the boards of TechSoup Global and The Circulate Initiative, advises corporate and government leaders on systems innovation, and speaks regularly at local and global forums.
