Brian Allender, MD, has been chief medical officer at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care since 2012. He completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Washington in 2007, where he developed his passion for community behavioral health care and the need to move evidence-based practices into real-world settings. After residency, Dr. Allender started work as a community psychiatrist at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care. Since then he has spearheaded efforts to develop and refine a multidisciplinary team-based care model, implement use of outcomes measures with clinical utility, integrate behavioral health treatment with primary care partners and bring evidence-based practices into community behavioral health as a standard of care.
