Justin Verga is a firefighter and paramedic for the City of Long Beach Fire Department in Southern California. Verga is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for adults, fire and ems personnel, public safety personnel and veterans. Justin has close to 20 years of experience in the fire service and has been assigned to a Homelessness Education and Response Team (HEART) for the last two years. HEART recently secured a SAMSHA grant to deliver Mental Health First Aid for Fire and EMS to all 500 members of the Long Beach Fire Department as well as surrounding agencies over the next three years.
