Crystal Wytenus has her Master’s degrees in Psychology, Counseling, and Public Administration as well as being dual
licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State
of New Jersey. She is also an advanced trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach ®. She has worked in residential programs, partial care programs, in home therapy, outpatient, crisis outreach, and inpatient programs. Crystal has worked with both adults and children with a variety of challenges including mental health, behavioral, developmental and substance abuse issues. Over her career she has provided both direct clinical care as well as clinical and administrative oversight, becoming a leader in her field.
For the past 10 years, she has held the position of Director of Care Management at Bergen's Promise, which is the Care Management Organization (CMO) of Bergen County. Bergen's Promise currently provides care management services to individuals ages 5‐21 with behavioral, mental health, developmental, and substance use challenges. In her position, she oversees best practice implementation, including ensuring fidelity to the wraparound model of care and enhancing this model by integrating other clinical models. Most recently, she has led a strategic initiative in the agency to integrate the foundational concepts of the family systems model into the work done with youth and their families.
Crystal has presented around the state of New Jersey on substance use trends and the utilization of the wraparound model of care and the and nationally on topics including substance use trends, the Wraparound Model of Care, Family Systems integration and the Nurtured Heart Approach ® to assist both professionals and community members in providing high quality clinical and engagement practices to youth and their families. Most recent speaking engagements include the 2025 Training Institutes and the 2025 Wraparound the World national conferences where she spoke about enhancing care for youth and families by integrating family systems and the Nurtured Heart Approach into already established clinical practices.
