Vanessa Perez has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2015. She received a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University in Kansas City, Mo. Currently, she is the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health with the Mental Health America of South Central Kansas located in Wichita, Ks. Vanessa is passionate about helping those struggling with a variety of mental health diagnosis but especially those who have experienced domestic violence, significant trauma, and Spanish-speaking individuals. Early in her career, she had the opportunity to work with people in rural western Kansas via a local community mental health center. This sparked an interest for helping those experiencing severe mental illness as well which has become a theme in her career up to this point. Vanessa strives to provide advocacy and support for persons with mental illness and their families. As well as educating the Latino population about mental health and community resources.
