Heather Williams is a nationally recognized mental health and suicide prevention and postvention advocate with both professional expertise and lived experience. She currently serves as the Program Manager for Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders, where she leads innovative approaches to supporting individuals navigating both mental health and substance use challenges.
Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. Since the inception of the 32nd Judicial District Co-Occurring Court, she has played an integral role in its development and success, providing clinical leadership to ensure recovery-oriented and evidence-based practices. In recognition of her impact, she received the 2021 Kelly VanVleck Unsung Hero Award.
A dynamic speaker, Heather delivered a TEDx talk, The Power of Connection, where she shared her personal story and highlighted how authentic human connection can save lives. She is also the co-author of The Wellness Workbook for Correctional Staff and The Wellness Workbook for First Responders, resources designed to foster resilience and wellness in high-stress professions.
Heather is deeply committed to working alongside first responders, offering training and advocacy to promote both community mental health awareness and the wellbeing of those who serve on the front lines. She also serves on the board of Badges Give Back, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support to first responders facing medical crises.
Her combination of clinical experience, leadership, and lived experience allows Heather to connect with diverse audiences, inspiring action and hope in communities nationwide.
