Elizabeth (Cook) Messerschmidt is the Director of Quality Improvement at Egyptian Health Department in Southeastern Illinois. In this role she facilitates reporting and quality management for more than twenty programs including both public and behavioral health services. Having grown up in the rural community she serves, Elizabeth is a strong advocate for the needs of the community and for social justice initiatives. Elizabeth and her husband Paul love to travel and eat at Michelin starred and celebrity chef restaurants, having most recently gone to Iceland on their honeymoon. Elizabeth is a board game enthusiast (though her favorite “video game” is Excel), a roller derby league president, and proud mom of 2 kids and 2 cats.
