Tyrena M. Lester is a licensed independent clinical social worker and seasoned leader in trauma-informed care, youth services, and behavioral health innovation. She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Implementation at Mirah. In this role, she partners with healthcare and mental helath providers nationwide to implement data-driven practices that improve clinical outcomes, enhance client engagement, and support sustainable system change.
With over 20 years of experience across clinical, supervisory, and academic roles, Tyrena has developed a deep understanding of the behavioral health landscape. She previously served as the Leader of the Child Advocacy Center at Baystate Medical Center’s Family Advocacy Center, where she led multidisciplinary teams providing trauma-focused support to children and families affected by violence, exploitation, and bereavement. Her earlier work includes leadership in partial hospitalization programs, child protective services, and community-based mental health.
Tyrena is also an adjunct faculty member at Westfield State University, where she teaches in the Master of Social Work program, guiding students through ethical decision-making and field-based learning. She has held similar academic roles at Bay Path University, where she taught courses in the human service subject field.
Known for her dynamic and grounded approach to clinical practice and systems leadership, Tyrena brings a powerful combination of frontline experience, program development expertise, and a strong commitment to equity in care. Her speaking topics often include implementing measurement-based care in real-world settings, trauma-informed leadership, workforce wellness, and advancing ethical practice in complex systems.
Tyrena holds a Master of Social Work degree and is passionate about aligning clinical integrity with innovation to create sustainable, client-centered impact.
Outside of the professional setting, Tyrena is a dance mom and a dog mom!
