Danielle B. Lowe, LCSW, PMH-C, is the Behavioral Health Services Director at SHIELDS for Families, Inc., a nationally respected nonprofit serving South Central Los Angeles. SHIELDS provides comprehensive, family-centered services through 37 programs, supported by more than 360 staff and a $30 million annual budget, serving over 10,000 families annually. Ms. Lowe earned her Bachelor of Arts (2010) and Master of Social Work (2013) degrees from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and is a PsyD candidate with anticipated completion in January 2026. She has dedicated 22 years to SHIELDS for Families, progressing through multiple leadership roles within the Youth Services Division before assuming her current role as Director of Behavioral Health Services. In her current role, Ms. Lowe oversees all Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder services, Youth Services, and Child Development programs. Since 2023, she has led the implementation of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model at SHIELDS, strengthening access to integrated, high-quality behavioral health care. Under her leadership, youth services expanded from two programs to sixteen, including the development and launch of College Bridge Academy, a charter high school serving at-risk youth. She has also expanded services for children ages 0–5 and established strategic partnerships with local schools and private foundations to broaden access to behavioral health services. Ms. Lowe specializes in family-focused, trauma-informed service delivery models, with particular expertise in supporting families impacted by substance use disorders.
