Carol J. McVey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Work and a Master's degree in Public Administration, both from Florida International University in Miami, FL. She has also earned certificates in addiction studies from the University of Miami, is a certified SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery (SOAR) trainer and a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Coordinator. In April 2022, Mrs. McVey joined DBHDD and currently serves as the Senior Director of Adult Mental Health. Prior to this role, Mrs. McVey worked with Thriving Mind South Florida as the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services. Mrs. McVey has also worked as the Director of Programs at South Florida State Hospital and got her start at a non-profit psycho-social rehabilitation agency in Miami, FL. Mrs. McVey has over 20 years of experience working in behavioral health services and has a passion for criminal justice and mental health collaboration.
