Amie Sica is the Vice President of Recovery and Peer Services at Riverside Community Care, bringing leadership grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience. Her work is informed by personal recovery and caregiving perspectives, which shape her commitment to equitable, person-centered, and recovery-oriented systems of care.
In her role, Amie provides strategic consultation, training, and program development across Riverside’s divisions, strengthening services for individuals with substance use challenges, mental health differences, and co-occurring conditions. She has led initiatives that elevate the role of peer and family support, integrate harm reduction into clinical settings, and build sustainable, high-quality peer workforces.
Amie serves on the Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist Training Team, contributing to the development and advancement of the statewide peer workforce. She is also actively engaged in councils and boards across the Commonwealth focused on community policing and behavioral health, recovery coach development, and expanding access to mental wellness and recovery supports.
Her contributions extend to applied research and quality improvement initiatives, including efforts to address early mortality among individuals with serious mental illness, improve hepatitis C screening for perinatally exposed infants, and reduce COVID-19 transmission in group living environments. These projects reflect her ability to bridge lived experience, practice-based insight, and systems-level change.
Deeply committed to collaboration, dignity, and choice, Amie is a strong advocate for risk reduction and recovery-oriented practice. By intentionally integrating lived experience with professional leadership, she supports organizations and individuals in strengthening recovery supports, building workforce capacity, and advancing more just, responsive, and effective behavioral health systems
