Stephen O’Neill, LSCSW, MBA, is a nonprofit and healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral and mental health. He is the Principal and Owner of Stephen O’Neill Counseling and Consulting, LLC and co-founder of Apricity Counseling and Psychiatric Services, where he provides therapy to individuals, couples, and families, as well as consulting services for nonprofit organizations and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs). Stephen is also the Executive Director of the Iroquois Center for Human Development, Inc. a frontier CCBHC in Southcentral, KS.
Stephen’s career spans clinical practice, executive leadership, and higher education. He has held senior leadership roles at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, Cornerstones of Care, and Gillis, where he oversaw programs, operations, and strategic growth initiatives. He has successfully led organizations through integration, sustainability planning, and crisis response expansion, managing teams from small groups to more than 700 employees.
Beyond his clinical and executive roles, Stephen is an experienced educator, having taught graduate-level social work courses for nearly a decade at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. He is also active in community service, serving on multiple boards.
