Daughter of Mexican immigrants, Celia Ruiz was born and raised in Kansas City has been actively involved in the Kansas City Latino community for over 30 years. Celia is a certified bilingual Youth, Adult and Teen Mental Health First Aid Instructor, having taught over 1300 individuals throughout Kansas and Missouri over 100+ trainings in both English and Spanish. She serves as Board Chair for the Kansas City non-profit, Art as Mentorship, where the connection between music and mental health lives through music and art mentorship for young people. Celia is a Social Determinants of Health Project Coordinator with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas.
