Amy brings over 30 years of facilitation and instructional design experience to her current work of providing education to our local behavioral health authority staff, as well as educators in public, charter and private schools and higher education systems and to community members including city and county agencies and organizations.
Amy has been an MHFA instructor since 2014 and is certified to teach all three curricula. The North Texas Behavioral Health Authority’s MHFA program has delivered training to over 7,700 participants in FY2025 and to over 20,000 people over the last 8 years.
Amy is very passionate about MHFA and especially the teen MHFA program after her youngest daughter’s suicidal ideation her freshman year of high school. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising design and marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University.
In addition to MHFA, Amy is also a Master Instructor for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and also teaches, CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means), Suicide Planning Intervention, and AS+K About Suicide.
