Amy has been with Hill Country MHDDC for 10 years. She came to the organization while serving on the "Texans Recovering Together Disaster FEMA Team". Currently she is the MHFA Grants Director/Coordinator/Training Specialist for Hill Country MHDDC and is certified in all the MHFA Modules. The Hill Country MHDDC MHFA Team continues to be one of the top producers of the MHFA Programs in Texas. She has received the MHFA Impact Coordinator of the Year Award, Top "Texas" MHFA Instructor, as well as Top Adult, Youth, & teen MHFA National Instructor by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. She has taught over 2,000 teens in the teen MHFA course. Amy, along with then CEO Ross Robinson of Hill Country MHDDC, submitted a “Request for Resolution in support of teen Mental Health First Aid” and was adopted in the Texas 87th Legislature as House Resolution 474.
Amy has been a guest speaker for the Texas Council of Community Centers, Texas School Safety Conference, ABC Summit, has served as host for the Texas Lone Star MHFA Summit and the Texas Council of Community Centers MHFA Pre-Conference for the past 3 years. She has facilitated numerous webinars on the education of mental health and awareness. She has also received the “Koalafied Outreach Worker Star Award” by her Texas MHFA peers.
Amy is a HUGE advocate for all the MHFA Programs. She has seen the incredible positive impact these courses bring to those who may be struggling with mental health and/or substance use challenges as well as those who support them.
