Ryan Paul Carruthers, PhD, LMHP, LADC, CPSS, is a recognized behavioral health leader, addiction recovery advocate, and systems-change strategist with nearly two decades of experience transforming mental health and substance use treatment. He currently serves as Chief Clinical Officer at CenterPointe, a progressive behavioral health organization in Nebraska, where he oversees more than 40 programs and 120 staff across the full continuum of care.
In long-term recovery since March 18, 2004, Ryan brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work—offering a rare blend of insight, empathy, and credibility that informs every level of his leadership. He holds a PhD in Counseling Studies and is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), and Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS). Known for his ability to merge clinical excellence with operational innovation, Ryan is a longtime member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has trained hundreds of professionals nationwide in evidence-based practices including MI, CBT, DBT, peer support, and the Zero Suicide framework.
