Kim is an LMFT who has worked with SHIELDS for 13 years. She began her career at SHIELDS in 2012 as a Case Manager, providing services to children and families. Over the years, Kimberly grown from overseeing the youth services mental health programs, youth dual diagnosis program, SHIELDS charter school, and the adult mental health program. Currently, Kimberly is the Training and Development Administrator where she oversees the student interns and clinical supervision.
Kimberly’s interest and experience is primarily with children and families. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development and has over 20 years of experience working with children in educational settings Kimberly takes a client-centered and strength base approach, as she believes that a client’s environment strongly impacts their emotional, physical, and mental state. Kimberly has extensive experience providing services treating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, suicidal ideation, as well as crisis intervention.
Her goal is to continue to empower youth and families, break the negative stigma on mental health services as well as community based mental health services.
