Dana Foglesong, MSW, LCSW, NCPS, CRPS, is a nationally recognized leader in peer support and recovery-oriented services. As National Senior Director of Recovery and Resiliency Services at Magellan Health, she leads strategic initiatives that expand access to peer support and embed recovery-focused approaches across managed care systems.
Since joining Magellan in 2015, Dana has led transformative efforts to strengthen and scale peer support services. She began in a Medicaid mental illness specialty plan in Florida, where she expanded billable peer support services and launched an innovative 1115 housing waiver pilot to broaden access to housing supports. Today, she directs a nationwide team of more than 35 peer and family support specialists in both leadership and direct service roles.
Beyond Magellan, Dana is a nationally recognized leader in peer support policy and practice. She has played a central role in shaping multiple state and federal peer support policies, including contributing to federal peer support legislation and securing Medicare’s first distinct service codes for peer support. Her work includes co-developing the National Practice Guidelines for Peer Support Supervisors, advancing the proposed Standard Occupational Classification for peer support specialists, and serving in national leadership with the National Association of Peer Supporters. Previously, she founded Florida’s statewide peer network and, while at the Florida Department of Children and Families Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, led the development of statewide practice standards, billing guidance, and recovery-oriented systems transformation. Dana is the founder of the Peer Support Policy & Practice Center at FindPeerSupport.com and a published author focused on peer-delivered services, workforce policy, and whole-health integration within complex healthcare systems.
A certified peer specialist since 2010 and nationally certified since 2017, Dana holds an MSW from the University of Central Florida, is a licensed clinical social worker, and is pursuing an MBA.
