Dr. Carla Smith is the Chief Clinical Officer at Motivo, where she leads clinical quality, compliance, and the design of scalable supervision and training models for the behavioral health workforce. She previously launched Motivo Learning, securing ASWB and NBCC approvals and expanding access to high-quality continuing education nationwide.

A licensed therapist and seasoned clinical leader, Dr. Smith brings two decades of experience across community mental health, clinical supervision, and graduate education. She spent ten years training MFT clinicians, with a focus on supervision, therapist development, and culturally responsive, evidence-based practice, and also leads a private group practice serving marginalized communities.

Dr. Smith presents nationally on supervision, workforce development, and mental health equity, advancing systems that support clinician well-being, retention, and high-quality care.
