Regina ‘Gina’ Whiyee currently serves as the Deputy Administrator for Milwaukee County’s Department of Health & Human Services, Children, Youth, and Family Services (CYFS). Her prior role was the CYFS Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Program Manager. Gina is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and community engagement, passionately working towards building a brighter future for the next generation. With a vision rooted in nurturing purpose and passion, Gina has committed her life to inspiring young people to realize their potential and contribute positively to their communities. Her extensive experience in community development and education underscores a profound belief that empowering youth is essential for creating healthier, more vibrant communities.
Throughout her career, Gina has held various leadership roles in nonprofit organizations and government, focusing on programs that foster skill development, mentorship, and civic involvement among youth and young adults. She has been involved in launching several successful Milwaukee County CVI initiatives that engage young people in meaningful mentorships and activities, encouraging them to take ownership of their futures while simultaneously enhancing the community around them. These initiatives include the Credible Messenger Program, the Advance Peace Fellowship, and the Healing for Our Youth summits.
