Leo Magrdichian was born and raised in Los Angeles County. Leo received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, graduating in the top 1% of his class and receiving numerous academic awards. Some of those awards include: The National Dean’s List; the College of Health and Human Services, Certificate of Honor; the Outstanding Senior Award for the entire University, and Special Recognition in Graduate Studies.
While still in Los Angeles, Leo received recognition from the State of California, the City of Los Angeles, and the County of Los Angeles for being an outstanding father. Leo has served on the Community Advisory Council for Project Escuelita/First 5 LA, the Parent Advisory Council, and as a Parent advocate with the Department of Children & Family Services.
Leo relocated to Las Vegas and joined the WestCare family in December of 2010. He was initially employed as a counselor intern at WestCare’s longest operating program, Harris Springs Ranch. Leo is licensed in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor (LCADC-S); and he currently serves as the Regional Vice President of Operations for WestCare Nevada.
Leo currently serves on the City of Las Vegas Mayor’s Faith Initiative, is an Oral Examination Panel Member for the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug, and Gambling Counselors, and serves as the chair on the Chaplaincy Advisory Board for Chaplaincy Nevada/Messages of Faith Ministries.
Leo is also in long-term recovery with a clean and sober date of November 22, 2002.
