Location: Screen 22, Exhibit Hall Poster Pavilion
Medication adherence is vital to behavioral health outcomes, yet its link to high-risk substance use is not well understood. Definitive toxicology testing can help identify both nonadherence to prescribed therapies and the presence of high-risk substances. This study explores how adherence to behavioral health medications may correlate with the detection of high-risk substance use through definitive testing.
Learning Objectives:
Analyze the relationship between antipsychotic medication adherence and the prevalence of high-risk substance use in behavioral health populations
Explore the clinical role of routine definitive adherence testing in a behavioral health population
Compare findings in published studies related to impact of high-risk substance use on medication nonadherence to results of objective toxicology testing performed within this population
