In just 12 months, Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) transformed Wayne County, home to Detroit and one of the nation’s largest urban areas, from having no behavioral health crisis system to a fully functioning, data-driven continuum of care. This session will share Michigan’s statewide crisis framework, DWIHN’s implementation strategy, and the rapid launch of crisis call centers, mobile crisis teams, and crisis stabilization units. Attendees will review first-year data, lessons learned, and actionable strategies to replicate and scale crisis response services in their own communities.
Learning Objectives:
Analyze Michigan’s statewide crisis care framework to determine how it can guide local crisis system design and operations.
Apply strategies for launching crisis call centers, mobile crisis teams, and crisis stabilization units to improve service delivery in their own organizations.
Develop an actionable plan using lessons learned and first-year data from Wayne County to enhance or establish effective crisis response services for clients.
