Disasters create urgent behavioral health needs that traditional systems often cannot meet. Following the July 2025 floods in Central Texas, Integral Care rapidly deployed its mobile mental health van to provide crisis counseling, emotional support, and connections to community resources directly in affected communities. The mobile unit offered a trusted, visible hub of care—equipped for private family and individual support, safe equipment transfer, and flexible service delivery despite shifting disaster conditions. This session will share innovative practices, operational lessons, and strategies for integrating mobile behavioral health vans into disaster response to strengthen preparedness and community resilience.
Learning Objectives:
Identify innovative practices for deploying mobile behavioral health vans in disaster response.
Understand strategies for cross-system collaboration during disaster recovery.
Apply lessons learned to strengthen disaster behavioral health preparedness in local communities.
