This presentation explores how motivation for substance use treatment varies across age groups, using data from over 739,000 individuals in the 2023 National GAIN dataset. The study compares six validated motivational scales to assess differences among adolescents, young adults, and older adults. Findings underscore the importance of age-tailored interventions, especially those enhancing intrinsic motivation through techniques like motivational interviewing.
